The station is powered by a 100 W solar panel and 58A battery to power the station for at least 6 cloudy days. The station is also equipped with a 3G industrial modem which not only allows the data to be viewed remotely, but also allows the station itself to be configured and monitored. The management software allows full remote configuration of the data logger through the 3G modem. Unlimited number of password-protected users could be setup to view and download live and historical data in both a spreadsheet format and graph format.
The station uses a Pico Technology data logger that are manufactured in the UK. These data loggers can withstand temperatures up to 70°C!
EL005 Data Logger:
The EL005 Data logger communicates with IR701 GPRS/GSM.3G modem through RS232 serial communication.
This communication allows the data logger to be accessed through the internet if the modem is supplied by a static public SIM card. The EL005 has a large 1 million sample memory and long-life internal rechargeable batteries. This combination makes it ideal for recording data over long periods of time. The batteries are kept topped up whilst mains power is available, and will keep the system running for up to 72 hours during a mains power failure.
EL026 Humidity/Temperature Converter:
Using the EL026 converter and EL030 temperature and humidity sensor EnviroMon can measure humidity/temperature. Each EL030 is calibrated for high-accuracy measurements.
EL037 General Purpose Converter:
Each EL037 has 4 input channels when used with the EL005 logger, each channel can be configured independently (using jumpers) to measure ±2.5 V, ±10 V or 4-20 mA.

61302V Barometric Pressure Sensors:
The 61302V sensor combines high accuracy and low power over a wide range of pressures and temperatures. It provides a calibrated 0-5 VDC analog output with a consumption of Les than 3 mA. A special “sleep” mode further reduces current to about 1 μA.
260-2501-A Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge:
The Model 260-2501-A Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge was designed for the National Weather Service to provide a reliable, low-cost tipping bucket rain sensor. It has been updated and improved with the addition of an inner funnel to even the flow of rainfall into the gauge, providing better accuracy at higher rainfall rates. Its simplicity of design assures trouble-free operation, yet provides accurate rainfall measurements. The tipping bucket mechanism activates a sealed reed switch that produces a contact closure for each 0.01”, 0.25 mm, or 1 mm of rainfall. The gauge has an 8” orifice and is manufactured of powder coated and anodized aluminium. The funnel screen prevents debris from entering the gauge.
